I Quit Sugar and I Quit MasterChef Australia

MasterChef Australia

MasterChef Australia has been a staple of TV consumption in our house (like millions of other households) since it launched 11 years ago.

We’ve not missed an episode. While the format of the show might be catchy it was not what made the show such a runaway success for Channel 10. It’s the antics of George Calombaris, Matt Preston and Gary Mehigan that made MasterChef successful.

The reality is that Channel 10 and the MasterChef franchise is going to come out second best in this whole saga. The boys (George Calombaris, Matt Preston and Gary Mehigan) will be just fine with their new show on Netflix.

Some rumours a circling that Sarah Wilson may be brought back in to be a judge on MasterChef, somehow I just cannot imagine a dessert challenge being judged by the queen of ‘I Quit Sugar’.

Sarah Wilson, if you are not sure who she is, starred on MasterChef first season but was later removed and became the forgotten fourth Judge of MasterChef. Sarah is also famed for writing a series of books called ‘I Quit Sugar’.

Like everything good must come to an end, MasterChef Australia certainly went out with an unexpected Boom. Replacing the 3 stars that made the show such a success is hard, and MasterChef will probably never recover ratings for Channel 10.

No, I will not be watching MasterChef Australia after this season of 2019. I will, however, be watching what George Calombaris, Matt Preston and Gary Mehigan do next.

I genuinely wish George Calombaris, Matt Preston and Gary Mehigan the best of luck in their future endeavours and I will be there supporting you guys.
